Matthew 25 Church

In September 2021, the burlpres Session voted to become a Matthew 25 congregation, an initiative of the PCUSA focused on building congregational vitality, dismantling structural racism and eradicating systemic poverty.

As a Matthew 25 Church, we seek to answer Christ’s urgent call to be a church of action, where God’s love, justice and mercy shine forth and are contagious. By becoming a Matthew 25 Church, we are taking the love in our hearts, the hope for our future and the desire in our souls to faithfully follow Jesus’ example and humbly walk in His steps.

Racial Justice Commitment

As followers of Jesus Christ we are called to work for justice and peace for all God's people.  Through worship, fellowship, education, and faithful ally-ship, burlpres is committed to be an authentic ally for those who suffer from social inequities and exclusion.

The Racial Justice Allies Working Group is a diverse group of brothers and sisters in Christ who are passionate about achieving racial equality and dismantling structural racism in our community.
